ASTM A671
ASTM A671 is a standard specifically designed for electric melting welded steel pipes used in normal and low temperature environments, suitable for high-pressure transportation scenarios. This standard specifies that the outer diameter of steel pipes shall not be less than 16 inches (400 millimeters), the wall thickness shall not be less than 1/4 inch (6.4 millimeters), and specifies the technical requirements for different grades and categories. The level corresponds to the steel plate material (such as CC65 indicating the use of A516 Gr.65 steel plate), and the category is divided according to the combination of heat treatment processes (such as normalizing, quenching, etc.), weld radiographic inspection, and hydrostatic testing. For example, CL32 category requires normalizing treatment and the execution of radiographic inspection and hydrostatic testing.
