1、 Execution standards and definitions
Core standards: PSL2 steel grade spiral seam steel pipes comply with API 5L (American Petroleum Institute Pipeline Pipe Standard) and GB/T 9711-2017 (China Petroleum and Natural Gas Pipeline Steel Pipe Standard).
Definition: PSL (Product Specification Level) represents the product specification level, with PSL2 being a higher level that requires stricter chemical composition, mechanical properties, and testing processes.
2、 Material and production process
Material requirements
Steel grades: Common steel grades include L245, L290, L360, X42 to X70, etc., with yield strengths ranging from 235-690 MPa.
Chemical composition: Fine grain killed steel is used, and harmful elements such as sulfur (S ≤ 0.030%) and phosphorus (P ≤ 0.040%) are strictly controlled. Repair welding is prohibited.
Production process
Forming and Welding: After the strip steel coil is leveled and trimmed, it is welded through spiral forming technology, using double-sided submerged arc welding (SAW) to ensure uniformity of the weld seam.
Non destructive testing: Welding seams require 100% ultrasonic (UT) and X-ray testing, and key areas such as T-joints require additional film inspection.
3、 Performance characteristics and testing requirements
Mechanical performance
Strength and toughness: Tensile strength ≥ 470 MPa (taking X70 as an example), yield ratio ≤ 0.93, impact test and drop hammer test are required for the pipe body and welds.
Corrosion resistance: Optional external anti-corrosion coating (such as 3PE, FBE) treatment, suitable for harsh environments.
Testing standards
Dimensional accuracy: Outer diameter error ≤ ± 0.75%, wall thickness deviation ≤ -5%~+10%.
Certificate requirements: EN 10204-3.1 or API 5L certification documents must be provided before leaving the factory, including measured data on chemical composition and mechanical properties.
