3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe refers to a three-layer structure polyethylene coating (MAPEC) external anti-corrosion steel pipe, which is a commonly used anti-corrosion pipeline in China, generally referring to the anti-corrosion of the outer wall of the steel pipe. Its structure consists of three layers, the first layer is epoxy powder, the second layer is adhesive (AD) with a thickness of 170-250um, and the third layer is polyethylene (PE) with a thickness of 2.5-3.7mm. These three materials are integrated and firmly bonded with steel pipes to form an excellent anti-corrosion layer.

Excellent anti-corrosion performance

Its surface adopts advanced 3-layer coating technology, with the bottom layer adhesive, middle anti-corrosion layer, and upper protective layer cooperating with each other. The anti-corrosion layer uses polymer materials to form a uniform and dense protective layer on the surface of the steel pipe, which can prevent the steel pipe from being corroded; The protective layer is made of epoxy material, which has good wear resistance and can resist daily friction and corrosion, greatly extending the service life of the steel pipe.

Excellent wear resistance

The outer layer is made of polyethylene material, which has good wear resistance and is suitable for high wear environments such as coal mines and oil fields. Its wear resistance can reach more than 10 times that of ordinary steel pipes, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.

Good high temperature resistance performance

Underground laying can effectively overcome factors such as high temperature, low temperature, and vibration. The surface epoxy powder layer can withstand temperatures of up to 150 ℃, while the anti-corrosion layer can withstand temperatures of up to 90 ℃, which can adapt to the needs of different environments.

It also has excellent impact resistance and earthquake resistance. Polyethylene has an extremely low low-temperature brittleness temperature and can be safely used in the temperature range of -60~60 ℃. It has strong adaptability to uneven settlement of pipe foundations.

Processing technology

Base material selection

Generally, seamless steel pipes, straight seam steel pipes, and spiral steel pipes are selected as base materials. When selecting, attention should be paid to checking whether the steel pipe is undamaged, qualified, etc. After selecting, the steel pipe should be preheated. At the same time, attention should be paid to the quality inspection of the steel pipe to check for defects.

Anti corrosion coating processing

Epoxy powder coating: The epoxy powder is processed onto the steel pipe by rolling or spraying.

Adhesive coating and polyethylene tape winding: The adhesive needs to be coated during the epoxy powder gelatinization process. When winding polyethylene, attention should be paid to rolling and compacting, and the surface of the polyethylene layer should not be damaged. The processing methods are generally divided into two types: winding and circular mold wrapping.

Subsequent processing

Circulating water cooling: After the anti-corrosion coating processing is completed, circulating water should be used in a timely manner to cool and solidify the anti-corrosion layer in stages.

Port grinding: After the anti-corrosion layer cools down, cut and leave heads on the pipe according to the specified reserved length, and then grind the port, paying attention to the flatness of the port.
