1、 Chemical composition
The chemical composition of SM520B spiral steel pipe complies with the Japanese standard JIS G3106, and the core elements and contents are as follows:
Carbon (C): ≤ 0.20% (some data shows ≤ 0.18%);
Silicon (Si): ≤ 0.55%；
Manganese (Mn): ≤ 1.60%~1.65% (strengthens core elements and enhances strength);
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): both ≤ 0.035% (strictly control impurities);
Trace alloying elements: niobium (Nb), vanadium (V), titanium (Ti), etc. (refine grain size and enhance toughness).

Yield strength (ReH):
Thickness ≤ 16mm: ≥ 365~420 MPa；
Thickness>16mm: ≥ 355 MPa；
Tensile strength (Rm): 520~640 MPa;
Post fracture elongation (A5): ≥ 19%.
Impact toughness:
0 ℃ impact energy (V-notch): ≥ 27 J (some data shows ≥ 34 J at -20 ℃);
Z-direction performance: Available in Z15/Z25/Z35 grades (anti delamination performance).
Process performance:
Weldability: Supports arc welding, submerged arc welding, etc., with weld strength matching the base metal;
Processability: Excellent cold/hot forming performance, capable of stamping, bending, and cutting.
