Main elements
Carbon (C): ≤ 0.25%, balancing material strength and weldability.
Manganese (Mn): 0.27%~0.93% (some specifications allow extension to 1.35%), enhances strength and toughness.
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): both ≤ 0.035%, strictly controlled to reduce cold and hot brittleness.
Other element restrictions
Silicon (Si): ≤ 0.10%, used for deoxidation and grain refinement.
Chromium (Cr) and copper (Cu): each ≤ 0.40%, limiting the influence of residual elements on processing performance.
2、 Mechanical performance
Intensity index
Tensile strength (Rm): ≥ 415 MPa, meeting the pressure requirements of high-pressure pipeline systems.
Yield strength (Rp0.2): ≥ 240 MPa, the material maintains stability under stress.
Plasticity and toughness
Elongation rate (A%): ≥ 22% (standard state), which can reach a higher level (such as 30%) after normalizing or heat treatment.

Manufacturing requirements
ASTM A106 Grade B is usually a seamless steel pipe that is hot-rolled or cold drawn and requires normalizing treatment to optimize the uniformity of the microstructure.
If applied to spiral steel pipes (welding process), it must comply with supplementary specifications such as strict weld seam testing (ultrasonic, radiographic testing) and hydrostatic testing.
Welding Challenge
High carbon equivalent (about 0.36%) may increase welding difficulty, requiring control of interlayer temperature (≤ 250 ℃) and use of low hydrogen welding materials.
4、 Application and Supplementary Instructions
Applicable scenarios: Mainly used for transporting high-temperature and high-pressure fluids (steam, oil and gas), widely used in petrochemical industry, power boilers, and environments resistant to hydrogen sulfide corrosion.
